Terrifying: Planes nearly collide at Spain’s El Prat airport [VIDEO]
Two planes nearly collided at Barcelona’s El Prat airport on Saturday and the entire incident was captured on video and uploaded to YouTube.
FoxNews.com reports that an Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus 340 was crossing the same runway where a Russian airline UTair was about to land, forcing the incoming plane to climb into the air and narrowly avoid a major aviation disaster.
Miguel Angel, who filmed the incident, told the Telegraph that it was “one of the worst experience I have ever had.”
Thanks to the quick-thinking actions of the UTair pilot, everyone lived to tell the story.
The Associated Press reports that the Spanish airport authority AENA has opened an investigation into the incident and says that the UTair eventually circled back and landed safely. There are currently no figures on how close the planes where when they nearly collided.
Since being uploaded on Sunday, the video has received nearly 8 million views.
